Comitato per la Lotta Contro la Fame nel Mondo di Forlì
The “Committee To Fight Hunger in The World” was founded in 1963 in Forli’ as a Study Group of a local section of a University Federation of Catholic Students and Scholars.
The Committee main activity was the promotion of initiatives to study the problems of hunger and underdevelopment in the world. It was after meeting the Abbe Pierre in Forli’ during an Emmaus camp that the Group started the activity of collecting rags, old furniture, used hardware and software that has made them very popular in town.
With the profits of their flea markets they are supporting many projects in the developing Countries and more than 100 Hospitals and Missions are being provided with medicines, dry food, clothes, etc.
In the event of great national or international emergencies (earthquakes, floods, wars), they send containers of goods everywhere.
They also cooperate with Caritas, with the Forli’ Municipality and with other private Institutions to alleviate local emergencies.
